Ken Parelius is a writer and martial artist based in the Chicago area. He can often be found in front of his desk fretting over whatever his current project is, meditating, reading, working out, or when his restless nature demands, wandering anywhere his legs will allow.
In his own words, Ken is an anti-materialistic vagabonding frugalist downshifter. He has a penchant for learning, wandering, teaching, and fixing things.
"I distinctly remember, at four or five years old, sitting on the couch as my mother vacuumed the living room carpet. I have an open book in front of me, and I'm gazing at the strange squiggly lines on the page, silently wishing that I could read. A few years later I read my first books and my childhood dream was born: to be an author. I've written off and on since that time so many years ago, and now I've come back to it as a profession. Not only do I enjoy crafting so many words into sentences, paragraphs, and complete works, but I have found no other sufficiently lucrative action that gives me such freedom, challenge, and fulfillment."
